          the entire frontend is littered with un-necessary "role"-attributes and "aria-*"-attributes. One example: the have wrapped the main navigation (which is a div-element) in a ... wait for it ... fieldset, "to make sure that screenreaders will convey the info"! ...

            I'm less than two weeks into this assignment, and I don't think I'll last much longer. I have seriously never seen anything like it, and it's such a shame, because it's an important and public (tax-funded!) project, but the quality of the codebase and the culture in the place ...
